"Mothers don’t sleep—they just worry with their eyes closed." This reflects what I see every day in my work—the constant, invisible mental load so many mothers carry. At the Mama's Got Mojo's Worry Bug Workshop, I had the opportunity to be part of an honest conversation about how worry, anxiety, and self-expectations shape motherhood.
As a child and family therapist, I emphasized that this worry is not a personal failure—it’s often a reflection of how much mothers are holding. We explored how small, intentional shifts can support emotional well-being without adding more pressure.
A key takeaway: Self-care isn’t about doing more. It’s about understanding what truly restores you. When mothers approach themselves with greater awareness and compassion, they can begin to move out of constant worry and into a more grounded, supported version of themselves.
